  • ¼ cup of chipotle peppers in adobo sauce about 3-4 peppers
  • ¼ tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp honey

Step 1: Gather Your Ingredients

  • Before you begin, make sure you have all your ingredients ready. A well-stocked cooking space makes cooking smooth and enjoyable. Grab your sour cream, lime, chipotle peppers, and all the rest.

Step 2: Prepare the Lime

  • Wash the lime thoroughly. Use a zester or fine grater to gather the zest of the lime into a bowl. Next, cut the lime in half and squeeze out the juice without any seeds making their way in. Set both the zest and juice aside for now.

Step 3: Mix the Base

  • In a medium mixing bowl, add the sour cream. Make sure it’s at room temperature for a smoother blend. Add the chopped cilantro, dried Mexican oregano, and kosher salt.

Step 4: Add Spice

  • Take your chipotle peppers in adobo sauce and chop them finely. Add the peppers along with the sauce to the bowl. This will give your sour cream that iconic, smoky flavor.

Step 5: Season Up
