Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Whisk or Fork
  • measuring cups and spoons

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon Parsley
  • 1 tablespoon Onion Powder
  • 2 tablespoons Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon Celery Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon Basil
  • 1 tablespoon Sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Oregano
  • 1 tablespoon Garlic Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Water
  • 2/3 cup Oil
  • 1/4 cup Cider Vinegar

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, combine the garlic salt, onion powder, sugar, oregano, pepper, basil, parsley, celery salt, and salt. Mix well, ensuring that all the ingredients are evenly distributed. This dry mix can be stored in an airtight container for future use.
  • For each serving of dressing, combine two tablespoons of the dry mix with 1/4 cup of cider vinegar, 2/3 cup of oil, and 2 tablespoons of water. Shake or whisk the mixture vigorously until well blended.

Notes

  • Customize the Vinegar: If you prefer a milder tang, you can substitute the cider vinegar with white wine vinegar or red wine vinegar. Experimenting with different vinegars can add new dimensions to the flavor of your dressing.
  • Enhance the Aroma: To enhance the aroma of your dressing, consider using fresh herbs instead of dried. Finely chop fresh basil, oregano, and parsley, and add them to the mixture right before shaking or whisking for an extra burst of freshness.
  • Bold Flavors: For those who enjoy a bolder flavor, increase the amounts of garlic salt, onion powder, and herbs in the dry mix. Adjusting the seasoning can make your dressing more robust and flavorful.
  • Add a Citrus Twist: To add a zesty twist to your dressing, squeeze the juice of half a lemon or lime into the mixture. The citrus notes will brighten the flavors and bring a refreshing tang to your salads or dishes.
  • Use Extra Virgin Olive Oil: Using high-quality extra virgin olive oil will elevate the taste of your dressing. Its rich fruity flavor will enhance the overall experience and lend authenticity to your creation.
