I’m thrilled to share one of my all-time favorite recipes with you: poppy seed noodles. They are simple, elegant, and packed with flavor.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups of egg noodles prepared per package instructions and drained
  • 1 tablespoon of finely chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 tablespoon of poppy seeds
  • 1 teaspoon of grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon of sea salt adjust to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper to taste

Instructions
 

Step 1: Prepare the Noodles

  • Start by cooking the egg noodles according to the package instructions. Drain them thoroughly to avoid any watery mess.

Step 2: Melt the Butter

  • In a large skillet, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat. Keep an eye on it to prevent the butter from burning.

Step 3: Add Poppy Seeds

  • Once the butter is fully melted, toss in the poppy seeds. Stir them around to ensure they are evenly distributed.

Step 4: Toss Noodles in Butter

  • Add the cooked and drained noodles to the skillet. Stir well to coat each noodle with the butter and poppy seed mixture.

Step 5: Season and Add Cheese

  • Sprinkle in the sea salt, freshly ground black pepper, and grated Parmesan cheese. Give it a good mix!

Step 6: Garnish and Serve

  • Finally, sprinkle the finely chopped fresh parsley over the noodles. Serve immediately.

Notes

Here are some tips to perfect your poppy seed noodles:
  • Don’t Overcook the Noodles: The noodles should be al dente. Overcooked noodles can turn mushy.
  • Use Freshly Ground Black Pepper: For the best flavor, freshly ground black pepper is preferred.
  • Quality Parmesan: A good-quality Parmesan cheese can make a big difference.
  • Watch the Butter: Make sure the butter doesn’t burn; cook it on medium heat.
